College Girl Ends Life as Friend Distributes Photos Taken Secretly, 7 Arrested

Cuttack: A girl student of +3 classes allegedly committed suicide in the Mahanga area of Cuttack district when a friend of hers secretly took her photos while she was changing clothes and shared them with her male friends.

The deceased girl was from Koliatha village under Mahanga police station limits.

A friend of the victim from Gadamadhupur in Jajpur district had taken the photos when she visited the victim’s home. These pictures taken while the victim was wearing a saree were shared by the accused with her male friends.

It is alleged that using these photos, some miscreants tried to blackmail the victim. According to sources, the victim ended her life to escape public humiliation because of the pictures taken by her friend.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested seven persons including the prime accused in connection with the case.
