Bhubaneswar: President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Mallikarjun Kharge will reach Bhubaneswar on January 29 to take part in a workers’ conference
According to sources, during his visit to Odisha ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, Kharge will discuss with senior Odisha leaders about the party’s future strategy.
Kharge will also review the preparations for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha. Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will pass through Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts in Odisha.
According to reports, Congress coordinators for 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha met Kharge in New Delhi to discuss about prospects of the party in the state.
On Friday Odisha Congress constituted its state election committee for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Odisha. The 18-member committee will be headed by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak and includes leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Narasingh Mishra, former state presidents Niranjan Patnaik, Jaydev Jena, Prasad Harichandan, campaign committee chairman Bijay Patnaik, former union minister Bhakta Charan Das, AICC secretary Sarat Rout, party MP Saptagiri Ulaka and party MLA Santosh Singh Saluja.
