Cricketer Turned Fraudster Conned Rishabh Pant of Rs 1.63 Cr

New Delhi: A fraudster named Mrinank Singh posed as an IPL cricketer who was part of the Mumbai Indians team to cheat women, international brands dealing with sports accessories as well as Rishabh Pant of Rs 1.16 crore rupees. He was arrested at New Delhi Airport, while he was trying to escape to Hong Kong.

According to NDTV, this 25-year-old cheat was a U-19 cricketer for Haryana. He posed as an IPL cricketer who played for the Mumbai Indians from 2014 to 2018. Through it, he wooed women, dined in expensive restaurants and stayed in five-star hotels without paying bills.

In 2022, this fraudster strayed at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi for a week and left without paying a bill of Rs 5.53 Lakh, saying Adidas would be paying the amount.

He made people believe that he was settled in Dubai. He was nabbed at the Delhi airport while he was trying to escape to Hong Kong on December 25.

To escape the immigration officials, he claimed to be an IPS officer from Karnataka. The police have arrested him.

Initial investigation has revealed that Mrinank cheated Rishabh Pant of Rs 1.63 crore in 2020-2021.

Several cases have been registered against him in different states.
