Delhi Officer Rapes Friend’s Minor Daughter, His Wife Terminates Pregnancy of Victim

New Delhi: A deputy director of Delhi’s Women and Child Development Department allegedly raped his friend’s minor daughter for several months and impregnated her. A case under POCSO Act was lodged against the official on Sunday.

The victim, a student of Class 12 in Delhi and was living with the family of the accused after her father’s death in 2020.

It is alleged that the wife of the accused gave medicine to the victim to terminate the pregnancy when she got impregnated by the official.

The accused is alleged to have raped the victim several times between November 2020 and January 2021.

This incident came to the fore when the survivor started having anxiety bouts and was admitted to a hospital a week back.

The Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, reacted to the case and said that police have not yet arrested the accused. She demanded Delhi police to arrest the accused soon.
