Ex-Sarpanch, Husband Killed in Keonjhar Dist, Bodies Recovered from Well

Keonjhar: A former woman sarpanch and her husband were murdered at their home by unidentified assailants at Mayurnacha village under Hatadihi block of Keonjhar district. The killers dumped their bodies in a well in the backyard of their house.

Receiving information, police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

The deceased of this double murder included Rambha Patra, the former sarpanch of K Baliapal panchayat and her husband Niranjan Patra, who worked as a ‘Gram Rakhi’ at the local police outpost.

It is suspected that the killers entered their house on Tuesday night and and brutally killed them.

The matter came to the fore when their neighbours found them missing. Bloodstains near their house hinted that the Killers had thrown their bodies into a well in their house’s backyard.

The exact reason for the brutal murder is yet to be ascertained.
