Pune Porsche Crash: Teen’s Father, 2 Pub Staff Remanded To 2-Day Custody

Pune: A sessions court in Pune has remanded the father of a 17-year-old involved in a fatal car accident that killed 2 techies, along with two employees of a local pub, in police custody until May 24.

The teenager, reportedly under the influence of alcohol after visiting bars, is accused of driving a Porsche that collided with a motorcycle, killing a man and woman both aged 24. While the juvenile is currently out on bail, his father, a real estate developer, was arrested for allowing his unlicensed son to access the car.

Prosecutors argued for a seven-day custody period for the father and pub staff. Investigations aim to determine why the father permitted his son to drive the unregistered vehicle and why he went into hiding after the accident. Authorities also suspect the father may be hiding additional mobile phones.

Regarding the pub employees, police seek to understand how the underage teen and his companions gained entry into the establishment, possibly through another member’s account.

The prosecution claims the driver accompanying the juvenile offered to take control of the vehicle, but the teenager refused.

The Juvenile Justice Board has issued a summons for the teenager to appear before them on Wednesday, following a police petition requesting a review of his bail.
