Female Foreign Tourist Enters Puri Jagannath Temple, Detained

Puri: A female foreign tourist entered the premises of the Jagannath temple in Puri on Saturday. She was detained by the police.

A servitor spotted the foreign tourist near Baishipahacha and informed the police.

Police have detained the foreign national at the Singhadwar Police Station of Puri. Her identity, VISA and Passport are being checked. As per reports, the detained woman is a Polish national.

On March 3, nine Bangladeshi nationals were detained by police for illegally entering the Srimandir. They were unaware of the temple guidelines that non-Hindus were not allowed inside the temple.

It was found that one of them was a Hindu. Investigation revealed, that four non-Hindus among them had entered the temple violating the norms under the Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1955.
