14 Persons Injured in Wild Bee Attack in Gajapati District

Paralakhemundi: At least 14 persons were injured when a swarm of wild bees attacked them near Kharinera village under the Mohana Block in the Gajapati district on Saturday.

They faced the bee attack inside the forest near the village. Some persons from the Kharinera village had entered the forest to collect forest products. They had lit up a fire under a tree to cook their food. The flame disturbed a bee hive on the tree.

The wild bees came out of the beehive and stung the persons present at the spot.

All injured in the bee attack were admitted to Mohana Health Center. According to sources, the health condition of all the injured was stable.
