No Darshan of Deities of Puri Srimandir for 4 Hours for Khasapadi Niti Today

Puri: Devotees will not be able to have darshan of the deities at the Jagannath temple in Puri for four hours because of the Khasapada ritual of the deities on Monday evening. This was informed by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

According to the SJTA, darshan inside the temple will remain closed for devotees from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm for this special ritual.

The Khasapada Lagi Niti ritual is conducted twice or thrice in a year and is performed at the Shreepayars (holy feet) of the deities, who are covered with white clothes for the ritual. This secret ritual will be performed after the second Bhogamandap offering to the deities.
