Five Engineering Students Killed in Road Accident in TN

Chennai: Five students of a private engineering college died when the MUV in which they were travelling crashed head-on collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday night.

Two students in the vehicle escaped with injuries. They were admitted to the hospital.

The ill-fated students were travelling to their homes Ongole in Andhra Pradesh from Chennai when they met with the accident.

According to police sources, the Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) in which the students were travelling was travelling at a high speed and the driver lost control and hit the truck coming in the opposite direction.

Locals, police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel had to break open the overturned MUV to take out the bodies and the injured stuck in the ill-fated vehicle.

The traffic on the Chennai -Tirupati highway was stalled at Tiruttani due to the accident.
