Forgery Allegation Leads to Suspension of AAP’s Raghav Chadha from Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Friday. He was suspended for “breach of privilege”. Four MPs alleged that he named them in a house panel without their consent by forging their signatures, which is a violation of the rules.

The Rajya Sabha passed a resolution moved by the leader of the House, Piyush Goyal, to suspend Raghav Chadda.

On Thursday, Chadha negated the allegations made against him with the allegation that the ruling party had targeted him because it could not accept that a 34-year-old MP took on its tallest leaders.

Meanwhile, the suspension period of AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also extended till the privilege committee decides on complaints against him.
