Gujarati Devotee Donates Rs 75 Lakh Worth Gold ‘Chitas’ to Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri  

Puri: A devotee from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, Chirag Chinubhai Patel, donated gold and silver ornaments worth more than Rs 75 lakh to the Sri Jagananth temple in Puri.

These gold ornaments include two gold Chitas (Tilaks) and three silver crowns (Mukuts). Patel handed them over to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) officials on Tuesday.

The two gold ‘Chitas’ weigh 1.075 Kg, and are worth around Rs 75 lakh. The silver crowns were donated for use of deities at the Sakhigopal temple. These crowns are worth around Rs 1 lakh.

These gold and silver ornaments were crafted by chosen goldsmiths from Gujarat as per the specifications provided by the SJTA.
