Trump Ruled Unfit to Run for President’s Post by Colorado Court

Former US President Donald Trump was barred from appearing on the ballot in Colorado in 2024’s presidential election by the Colorado Supreme Court because of his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters.

Trump became the first presidential candidate in US history to be deemed ineligible for the White House under a rarely used provision of the US Constitution that bars officials who have engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” from holding office.

, the state’s top court ruled on Tuesday in a historic judgment Trump will challenge this Colorado court decision in the the US Supreme Court.

The Colorado Supreme Court decision applies only to Colorado’s March 5 Republican primary, but it can affect Trump’s political future.

The Colorado court said it would delay the effect of its decision until at least January 4, 2024, to allow Trump for an appeal.

Trump’s campaign called the court decision “undemocratic”. The Biden campaign declined to comment.
