Hindol MLA Simarani Nayak Quits BJD

Bhubaneswar: Hindol MLA Simarani Nayak resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday. She was denied a ticket by the party to contest the 2024 Assembly polls.

She was elected twice to the Odisha Assembly. In her resignation letter sent to the BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, she thanked the BJD supremo for giving her an opportunity to serve the people of the Hindol Assembly constituency in Dhenkanal district for 10 years.

In place of Simarani Nayak, the BJD has fielded Mahesh Sahu as its candidate from the Hindol seat.
