Homeguard’s Body Found on Rail Tracks in Rayagada

Rayagada: The body of a home guard serving Rayagada district police was discovered on railway tracks near Rayagada railway station in Odisha late on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Ishwar Rao. According to reports, he was serving as a cook at the residence of Rayagada SP.

According to sources, he was on a 3-day leave to attend the funeral rituals of a relative in Visakhapatnam to attend death rituals of a relative.

Although the circumstances that led to his death are yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he jumped from the moving train.

Police have seized his body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation has been initiated into the incident.
