Thiruvananthapuram: India’s second warm-up match against the Netherlands had to be abandoned without toss due to persistent rain, preventing any play from taking place.
As a result, Team India will now head to Chennai to prepare for their opening match against Australia on October 8. Meanwhile, the Netherlands will face Pakistan in Hyderabad on October 6, weather permitting.
This practice game was meant to provide India with a final opportunity to assess all 15 squad members. However, as Captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged in Guwahati, these warm-up contests do not hold the same significance given the team’s overall preparedness.
