Indian PSLV Rocket to Carry 7 Singapore Satellites to Space on July 30

Sriharikota: Using its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will put seven Singaporean satellites in orbit around the earth on July 30.

It will be ISRO’s second rocket mission to space in about two weeks. The Chandrayaan 3 mission was launched on July 14.

Registration of the public wanting to witness the PSLV launch on July 30 will start from Monday evening.

The PSLV rocket with the code PSLV-C56 will transport the Singaporean DS-SAR satellite weighing about 360 kg as the main payload. Six other smaller satellites from Singapore that will travel to space in this rocket are VELOX-AM, ARCADE, SCOOB-II from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; NuLIoN belonging to NuSpace Pte Ltd, Singapore, Galassia-2 from National University of Singapore and ORB-12 STRIDER from Aliena Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

According to ISRO, the PSLV-C56 rocket will blast off from the first launch pad at the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh on July 30.
