Jack Leach Ruled Out of Remainder of India Test Series Due to Knee Injury

England’s spin bowling woes deepened as left-arm spinner Jack Leach was ruled out of the remaining Test matches against India due to a knee injury sustained during the first Test in Hyderabad.

Leach missed the second Test in Vizag and after undergoing assessments, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed his departure from the tour on Monday.

“He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours,” the ECB said in a statement. “The England squad has been in Abu Dhabi since the second Test in Vizag came to an end. They will now travel to Rajkot without Leach for the third Test that starts on Thursday (February 15).”

Leach will undergo rehabilitation in conjunction with the England and Somerset medical teams. His absence creates a significant gap in England’s bowling attack, particularly considering the turning pitches encountered in India.
