WTC Points Table 2023-25: India Move to 2nd Spot in Standings After Record Win Vs England in 3rd Test

India dominated England in the third Test of the five-match series, securing a resounding victory by 434 runs in Rajkot on Sunday. This remarkable win marks India’s largest victory margin in their 577-test history and the first time they’ve won by over 400 runs. With this triumph, India moved ahead 2-1 in the series, overtaking Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, now sitting at the second position.

The emphatic win propelled India to second place in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, leapfrogging Australia. New Zealand remains on top with 75% points, while India sits at 59.52%, just ahead of Australia’s 55%.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India’s exceptional performance was highlighted by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten double century and Ravindra Jadeja’s five-wicket haul. Jaiswal’s impressive 214 off 236 balls propelled India to a commanding position, complemented by Jadeja’s impactful bowling display.

In pursuit of 557 runs for victory, England struggled significantly, losing eight wickets in the final session and eventually being bowled out for 122 on day four. Despite efforts from Ben Stokes and others, England’s batting lineup crumbled under India’s relentless bowling attack.

Jaiswal’s exceptional innings, marked by a record-equalling 12 sixes, showcased India’s dominance, while England’s struggles were evident throughout the match. With the series now 2-1 in favour of India, all eyes turn to the fourth Test starting in Ranchi on Friday.
