Odisha Govt Floats Tender For International Airport in Puri

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has initiated a tender for the construction of the Sri Jagannath International Airport in Puri, estimated at Rs 2,203 crore. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and is slated for completion within three years.

According to an official notification, the online tender process will commence on February 21, with technical bids opening on April 21. The invitation for international competitive bids was issued by IDCO’s Chief General Manager (P&C) on behalf of the State Commerce and Transport Department.

The proposed airport will occupy approximately 1,164 acres of land near Sipasarubali in Puri. A team from the Central Civil Aviation Department has already surveyed the site.

Once operational, the airport is expected to significantly boost tourism in Puri, attracting a higher number of visitors, as per official sources.
