Jilted Bihari Lover Stabs Girl of Dance Troupe in Nabarangpur Dist

Nabarangpur: A youth from Bihar attacked a woman with a sharp weapon and injured her seriously in the Umerkote area of Nabarangpur district on Monday night.

The victim was identified as Lipsa Nayak, part of a five-member dance troupe from Puri. These girls were staying at a rented house and were performing in different cultural events.

The accused was identified as Rohit Singh, a resident of Bihar. Scaling the boundary wall, Rohit had barged into the house and allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife. Rohit managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the grievously injured girl.

The injured woman was initially rushed to Umerkote Community Health Centre (CHC) and later admitted to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

Preliminary investigation hints that Rohit attacked the woman due to failed love affair. Rohit and Lipsa were reportedly in a relationship, but for some reason Lipsa had parted ways from Rohit, which had irked him to take the violent step.
