Paris Olympics: Lakshya Sen Stumbles Again, Misses Out on Bronze

Paris: Lakshya Sen’s dream of securing an Olympic medal on his debut came to a disappointing end after a hard-fought loss to Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in the bronze medal match on Monday.

The 22-year-old Indian shuttler initially led with a strong performance but ultimately fell to the world number 7, who rallied to win 13-21, 21-16, 21-11.

This defeat marks the first time in 12 years that India will not bring home a badminton medal from the Olympics. Despite the setback, Sen achieved a notable milestone as the first Indian male shuttler to reach the Olympic semifinals.

The 2021 World Championships bronze medalist and 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medalist showcased his potential on the global stage, promising a bright future for Indian badminton.
