Large Boulder Falls on Railway Track Affecting Train Services in Rayagada-Koraput Stretch

Bhubaneswar: Due to continuous rains, a huge boulder fell on the railway track affecting the train services in Rayagada-Koraput stretch on Wednesday.

Because of it, two trains were cancelled, and another was diverted.

According to sources, the large boulder fell on the railway tracks between Tikiri and Laliguma in Koraput district because of a landslide. Railway tracks at some portions have also been submerged.

According to railway sources, Jagdalpur-Rourkela and Rourkela- Jagdalpur trains have been cancelled for Wednesday. Similarly, the route of the Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express has been diverted.

A railway quick action team from Koraput along with the engineering staff rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
