Leopard Mauls 3-Yr-Old Girl In Nabarangpur District

Nabarangpur: A three-year-old girl was mauled to death by a wild leopard at Dharabatarar village under Bhinsaguda panchayat on Nabrangpur-Chhatisgarh on Friday evening.

After receiving information about the incident, personnel of the police and forest department reached the village to start an investigation.

The villagers were advised by the forest officials not to venture into the forest area near the vigil and keep vigil on on the movement of the Leopard.

According to reports, the ill-fated child was at her home, when she was suddenly attacked and dragged away by the leopard. Villagers tried to stop the leopard from taking the child away into the nearby jungle. Another person of the village was also injured while trying to rescue the child.

Because of the shouts of the villagers, the leopard left the injured girl and escaped into the forest. The girl died in the attack.
