Leopard Skin, 2 Guns Seized, Poacher Arrested in Rayagada District

Rayagada: Forest officials seized leopard skin from possession of an arrested person in Muniguda forest range of Rayagada district.

Acting on an intelligence report, a team of forest officials conducted a raid at Kanadulapada village under the Muniguda forest range at the border of Kandhamal district on Tuesday.

During the raid, the officials located a leopard skin and two country-made guns at the house of Kitana Andhikia of the village.

Adhikia was arrested. But Kitana’s associate Sumat Sikaka managed to escape from the spot. Investigation revealed that both were poachers. An investigation is on to ascertain their network and wildlife killings in the past.
