Man Dupes Over 100 Youths of Rs 1 Cr Through Job Assurance in BSNL, Arrested in Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: One Niteigaura Barik (30) from Balangir district was arrested by Bargarh police for conning over 100 youths of over Rs 1 crore through false assurance of jobs at the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Fraudster Niteigaura had cheated youths from Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir, and Kalahandi districts. He had even handed them fake appointment letters of BSNL.

The arrested conman had done this cheating by using two fake Facebook accounts where he posed as AGM and DGM of BSNL. He promised appointments in BSNL without any tests and interviews.

When the victims came to know that his forgery and demanded him to return back their money, Barik gave them blank signed cheques to them. But the cheques bounced due to lack of funds in the account.

According to Bargarh police, Barik was being searched for since 2017. Three special police teams were trying to track him down.

Forged documents pertaining to this case, two fake IDs, chequebooks, fake appointment letters, and a diary containing the names of the victims were seized from his possession.
