Man & His Cousin Hacked to Death in Ganjam Dist

Berhampur: Two persons were hacked to death in the Kavisuryanagar police station area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased were identified as 30-year-old man Mithun Bhuiyan of Sunarijhola village under Kabisuryanagar police station limits and his cousin Lipun Swain of Nuagada village under Hinjilicut police limits in Ganjam district.

Past enmity of Mithun’s family with Janaki Bhuyian’s family of Sunarijhola is said to have led to this double murder.

It is alleged that Janaki’s family along with some others attacked Mithun and Lipun with sharp weapons on Monday evening. Both were lethally injured.

The injured duo was first taken to the Kabisuryanagar Community Health Centre (CHC) and was later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. But doctors declared both of them dead on arrival at the medical college hospital.
