2 Decomposed Elephant Carcasses Found in Satkosia Sanctuary

Bhubaneswar: Two decomposed elephant carcasses were discovered by forest department officials in the Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district of Odisha on Tuesday.

According to reports, the decomposed jumbo carcasses were located by locals near the Jagannathpur village in the Satkosia forest range. Being informed, forest officials rushed to the spot to start an investigation.

Initial findings suggest that the two wild elephants may have been electrocuted by coming in contact with a live wire. The state decomposition of bodies hints that they may have died at least four days back.
