Martyr Saroj Das’ Body Reaches Bhubaneswar, Governor & CM Pay Last Respects

Bhubaneswar: The body of martyred Odia jawan Saroj Kumar Das, who lost his life in the Sikkim flash flood while in the line of duty, reached Bhubaneswar in a special aircraft on Saturday.

Several dignitaries including Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and senior officers of BSF paid last respects to the departed soul at the airport.

Public Works Department Minister and local MLA Prafulla Mallik, and Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahu also paid floral tributes to the martyr.

A guard of honour was also accorded to the martyred jawan at the Bhubaneswar airport.

Saroj hails from Kendudhipa Village under Kamakhyanagar block of Dhenkanal district. He was serving as a havildar in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) wing of the Indian Army.

His last rites will be performed at his village cremation ground with full state honour.
