Watch: Explosion of Army’s Ammunition Washed Away by Flash Flood in Teesta River

New Delhi: A huge cache of ammunition belonging to the Indian Army exploded in a loud blast on the bank of Teesta river in Sikkim’s Rangpo. This ammunition was swept away to the spot by the flash flood in the Teesta river. Luckily no injuries were reported in relation to this blast.

This blast was recorded by a local and its visual is viral on social media.

In West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district, a boy was killed and five others were injured as a mortar shell reportedly swept by the floodwaters of Teesta river, exploded.

Fifty-six people, including seven Armymen, were killed in the flash flood, which was triggered by a cloudburst in the early hours of Wednesday. Over a 140 persons are still missing.
