Bomb Blast in House Injures Teacher in Berhampur

Berhampur: A man was critically injured when a bomb exploded in his house at Raghupati Nagar under Bada Bazaar Police Station limits in Berhampur on Thursday.

The injured was identified as Tukuna Bhuyan, a teacher by profession.

According to sources, Bhuyan along with his family is staying on the second floor of a two-storey building on the second lane of Raghupati Nagar. On Thursday, at around 7 pm, a blast occurred in the house, when Bhuyan was alone at his home.

Bhuyan came out to the balcony of the house and cried for help. The neighbours rescued him in injured condition and admitted him to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital.

The neighbours say, they could see gunpowder and other materials used in bomb-making strewn on the floor of the house of Bhuyan.

Receiving information, a team from the Bada Bazaar Police Station reached the spot. An Investigation is on to ascertain the reason behind the bomb blast.
