Meat Loaded Truck Torched by Angry Mob in Cuttack’s Banki

Cuttack: A mob of angry locals burnt down a meat-loaded truck on the road near Baideswar police station at Purunapani in Banki of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday morning.

The locals alleged that the truck was transporting beef illegally. The truck was coming from Athagarh towards Banki. Local police detained the driver and two meat traders for investigation.

Extra police were deployed at the spot to avoid escalation of tension.

Firefighters arrived at the spot and extinguished the fire.
