Bhubaneswar: As per a notification of the Odisha government, the second campus of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo (MSCB) University has been merged with Keonjhar’s Dharanidhar University, which received the univarsity status in February this year.
According to the Odisha Higher Education Department, this merger has been done as per Section 32 of the Odisha Universities Act 1989. The official notification further mentioned that all the liabilities and litigations related to the second campus of MSCB University will be booked after by DDU from the date of the notification.
All the students enrolled at the second campus of MSCB will be under the jurisdiction of the MSCB till the completion of their course, the official notification stated.
The teaching staff of the second campus of MSCB University who opted for Dharanidhar University will be absorbed against the vacancy in the DDU as the posts of 2nd campus are also absorbed in the DDU.
All new admissions to this second campus will be under the DDU, Keonjhar. There will be no fresh admission of students to the second campus of MSCB University with effect from 2023-24.
