Nirmala Sitharaman Offers Prayers to Lord Jagannath in Puri

Puri: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on a two-day visit to Odisha, visited Shree Jagannath Temple to offer her prayers to the deities on Thursday.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra, and MLAs Jayanta Sarangi and Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra accompanied Sitharaman during her temple visit.

The Finance Minister is scheduled to participate in a sand art session, themed ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh,’ conducted by renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik.

She will also participate in a plantation drive at Puri and visit the birthplace of noted freedom fighter Saheed Jayee Rajguru before returning to Bhubaneswar.

In Bhubaneswar, Sitharaman and Pradhan will take part in a book launch program and then the Union Finance Minister will grace the inauguration ceremony of the 20th National CA Conference.

Sitharaman arrived in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night.
