New Delhi: Eight Members of Parliament (MPs) from different political parties were in for a delightful surprise on Friday when they were unexpectedly invited to lunch with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
The MPs, including Heena Gavit (BJP), S. Phangnon Konyak (BJP), Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (BJP), L. Murugan (BJP), Rammohan Naidu (TDP), Ritesh Pandey (BSP), and Sasmit Patra (BJD), received a call around 2:30 PM informing them that the Prime Minister wanted to meet them. With playful anticipation, the PM declared, “Let’s go, I have a punishment for you!”
The MPs received a call around 2:30 pm summoning them to meet the Prime Minister. Expecting a serious discussion, they were taken aback when they were led to the canteen instead. During the lunch, PM Modi, in a casual atmosphere, shared his fondness for khichdi and recalled his visit to Pakistan in 2015 despite objections from the Special Protection Group.
The MPs had the opportunity to engage in an informal conversation with the Prime Minister, discussing various topics ranging from his hectic schedule to his experiences in Gujarat and his extensive foreign trips.
They described the experience as “great” and appreciated the chance to set the agenda during the discussion.
