Pune Porsche Crash: Teen Driver’s Bail Cancelled Amidst Raging Public Uproar

Pune: The Justice Juvenile Board has revoked the bail granted to the 17-year-old boy accused of killing two people in a drunk driving incident involving a Porsche car. The boy will now be sent to a Children’s Observation Centre while further investigations are conducted.

The teen, whose name is not being disclosed due to his age, allegedly struck a motorcycle carrying two IT professionals earlier this month. The victims, Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, died in the crash.

Pune police had argued for the boy to be tried as an adult due to the severity of the crime. A final decision on this will come later based on the ongoing investigation.

Maharashtra’s Transport Commissioner has confirmed that the teenager will be barred from obtaining a driver’s license until he turns 25. Additionally, it was revealed that the Porsche involved in the accident, a Taycan model, had a pending registration due to an unpaid fee of Rs 1,758.

The boy’s father, Vishal Agarwal, has also been taken into police custody and will remain there until May 24.
