Rahul Gandhi Will Spend 4 Days in Odisha During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Bhubaneswar: Rahul Gandhi will spend four days in Odisha as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra that will be launched on January 14 from Manipur.

The yatra will enter Odisha from Jharkhand and pass through Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and Jharsuguda districts, informed senior Odisha Congress leader Sarat Rout.

Addressing the media, Rout said, “We are expecting that the yatra will be held in Odisha during the second and third week of February before its enters neighbouring Chhattisgarh”.

“Though the yatra is to cover 341km in four districts of the state, the Odisha Congress has requested the central leadership to include few more districts within the state in the yatra”, he added.

He informed about plans to hold a major public meeting in Bhubaneswar, to be addressed by Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Rahul Gandhi’s yatra will cover those districts in Odisha, which are considered strongholds by the BJP. In comparison, the Congress has a better following in south Odisha districts like Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada.

This yatra taken up ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls will end in Mumbai after covering a distance of over 6,700km, touching 110 districts of 15 states including Odisha in 66 days.
