Rains in Coastal Odisha in Next 48 Hours, Low-Pressure Developing Over Bay of Bengal

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours and it may intensify into a depression by November 16, stated the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

Because of this, some coastal regions of Odisha may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 48 hours.

According to the IMD, in south coastal Odisha, the weather will remain cloudy with light to moderate rain in some places.

Light to moderate rains may happen in some places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Kendrapada districts on November 15. The intensity of rain is likely to increase on November 16 in 10 districts of interior and coastal Odisha.

The weather will remain cloudy on November 17 and 18 and there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places.

It is expected that minimum temperatures may decrease by 2°C-3°C across the state because of the cold and dry winds entering the state from the northwest.

But daytime will continue to be hot and humid.
