Shubman Gill Hurts Finger, Out of Field on Day 4 of 2nd Test Against England

Visakhapatnam: Indian batter Shubman Gill will not field on Monday as he hurt his right index finger on the second day of the second Test against England in Vizag.

The 24-year-old scored 104 off 147 balls in the second innings of India. He injured his finger on Saturday while fielding. “Shubman Gill hurt his right index finger while fielding on Day 2. He won’t be taking the field today,” Indian team management said in a statement.

Fielding in the slip cordon, Shubman Gill had taken four catches during England’s first innings.

In place of Shubman, Sarfaraz Khan was on the field on Day 4.
