Mohammad Siraj Soars to Top of ODI Rankings After Asia Cup Final Haul

Mumbai: Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj has reclaimed the number one spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after a stellar performance in the Asia Cup final. Siraj’s remarkable spell of 6 for 21 against Sri Lanka helped India secure their eighth Asia Cup title with a convincing 10-wicket victory.

South Africa’s spinner Keshav Maharaj also made significant gains in the latest update, climbing ten places to reach the 15th position. England’s all-rounder Chris Woakes rose to the 11th position, while South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi now sits in the 21st position.

In the batting charts, South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen and England’s Dawid Malan saw significant advancements. Klaasen’s impressive knock of 174 against Australia propelled him into the top 10 for the first time. Malan achieved a career-best 13th position after scoring 277 runs in the three matches he played in the series.

Ben Stokes also made a noteworthy ascent, moving up 13 spots to claim the 36th position in the batting rankings after his record-breaking score of 182 at The Oval.

Other notable improvements include South Africa’s David Miller (up four places to 17th), Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka (up two places to 28th), Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hassan (up five places to joint-29th), and Australia’s wicketkeeper Alex Carey (up three places to joint-29th).
