STF Nabs Drug Peddler With Rs 50 L Worth Brown Sugar in Keonjhar Dist

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police nabbed a drug peddler Debananda Samal (37) and seized narcotics worth over Rs 50 lakhs from him during a raid in Anandpur area of Keonjhar district.

Acting on an intelligence tip-off, the STF officials with the help of local police intercepted Samal’s vehicle at the Silun Square on Sunday.

Brown sugar weighing 520 grams was seized from his Maruti Alto car.

The Keonjhar Town Police registered a case against the accused under section 21(c) of the NDPS Act 1985.

Since 2020, the STF has seized more than 72 kg of brown sugar/heroin, 202 grams of cocaine, 116 quintals of marijuana, opium 3 kg and has arrested more than 182 drug dealers/peddlers.
