Two Brothers Arrested in Rs 51.86 lakh Jewellery Loot Case of Rourkela

Rourkela: Two persons allegedly involved in the alleged loot of gold ornaments worth Rs 51.86 lakh from a jewellery shop employee in Odisha’s Rourkela city were arrested by police.

The two arrested accused are brothers staying in the Basanti Colony area of Rourkela. According to police sources, gold ornaments weighing over 500 grams were seized from their possession.

The arrested duo stabbed Pradeep Kumar Soni with a knife to rob a bag containing the gold ornaments from him. This loot occurred near Rourkela Railway Colony on December 15 morning.

Pradeep faced a robbery attempt when he returned to Rourkela by Azad Hind Express. While he was travelling to his home along with the ornaments procured from Kolkata, on a scooter, the robbers intercepted him and snatched away the valuables.
