VSSUT Serves Compulsory Retirement Notice to Asst Prof

Burla: An assistant professor of the Veer Surender Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla in Odisha was given compulsory retirement for alleged misconduct and undisciplined behaviour. According to the VSSUT authorities, the decision regarding it was taken on February 27.

Siba Prasad Panigrahi of the Electrical Engineering department is the assistant professor, who has been given compulsory retirement. The VSSUT authorities directed the concerned head of the department to de-register him from the university records.

As per reports, Panigrahy allegedly abused the university authorities on social media using unparliamentary language. He was earlier suspended for two years for misconduct and similar behavioural issues. He was also reportedly removed from the job at the educational institute, where he was working before joining the VSSUT.

In October 2023, the university took similar action against Sasmita Padhi, an assistant professor of Computer Application department over disciplinary issues.
