Wild Tusker Attacks & Injures 2 Forest Officials Seriously in Mayurbhanj Dist

Baripada: Two personnel of the forest department were seriously injured when they were attacked by a wild elephant near Benapura village under the Betonati forest range in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday night.

The injured forest officials were Pradip Dehury, the forestor of Badampur, and Jateen Kisku, a protection assistant.

A stray wild tusker attacked them while they were trying to shoo it back into the jungle on Sunday night. Locals rescued the injured forest staffs.

Both injured were admitted to the PRM Medical College and Hospital for treatment by locals.

According to sources, the wild elephant menace continues in this area and Rasgovindpur in the Mayurbhanj district.
