World Cup Clash: Pakistan All Out for 191 in 42.5 Overs

Ahmedabad: Pakistan batters could not reach total score of double century and collapsed for 191 against India after 42.5 overs in their World Cup 2023 fixture in Ahmedabad after being invited to bat first.

India bowlers staged a stunning comeback in the middle overs with Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav’s twin strikes triggering a Pakistan collapse.

From 155/2, Pakistan lost five wicekts for 16 runs and put themselves in danger of getting bowled for under 200.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were in the middle of a partnership that looked rather threatening for India.

But Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya got rid of the Pakistan openers. But once Siraj had the Pakistan captain playing on, ending the 82-run stand, Pakistan’s wheels came off.

Kuldeep had Saud Shakeel out LBW before bowling Iftikhar Ahmed around his legs. Shortly after Bumrah bowled a peach to dismiss Rizwan and then subsequently removed Shadab Khan in the next over.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl.

Hardik, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have scalped two wickets each.
