Stocks Updates: Sensex Climbs 115 points

New Delhi: The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed modest gains in the afternoon trade. Both indices rose amid mixed cues from global share markets. The Sensex was trading above 59,600 points while the Nifty was trading above the 17,700 level.

The Sensex climbed 115 points, or 0.19 percent, to trade at 59,659. The Nifty also added 45 points, or 0.26 percent, to 17,701.

In the forex market, the rupee logged a robust gain of 44 paise to trade at 82 rupees and 30 paise against the US dollar in the afternoon deals.
