Man Beheads Minor Girl After Authorities Stop His Engagement Ceremony in Karnataka

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a man beheaded a 16-year-old girl he was set to marry on Thursday. This incident took place hours after authorities stopped their engagement ceremony in Karnataka’s Madikeri.

The 32-year-old accused named Prakash was to marry the girl, who passed the Class 10 exams recently at the Surlabbi village in Madikere.

But this child marriage attempt was stopped by the Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

A team from the commission reached the engagement ceremony venue stopped the ceremony as the girl was underage. The families agreed to end the engagement and cancelled the ceremony.

A few hours later, irked Prakash reached the girl’s home, attacked her parents and then dragged her out of the house and allegedly decapitated her with a sharp weapon.

Prakash escaped after committing the murder. Police have begun a search operation to nab him.
