Death Toll Rises to 44 in Northwestern Pakistan Suicide Bombing

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: A suicide bombing at a political rally in northwestern Pakistan killed at least 44 people and injured nearly 200.

The Islamic State (ISIL/ISIS) is suspected of being behind the attack, which took place in the Bajaur district, bordering Afghanistan.

The injured were rushed to hospitals in Bajaur and neighbouring regions, with critically wounded victims transported by military helicopters to Peshawar.

Political figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and condemned the attack.

The attack marks one of the deadliest incidents in northwestern Pakistan since 2014.

The JUI-F party has been targeted by ISIL (ISIS) in recent years due to their opposition to Taliban sentiments.

Despite the tragedy, the JUI-F remains determined to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections in November.

Party leaders urge the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and provide necessary support to the victims and their families.
