Turkish Singer Melek Mosso chops hair to support anti-hijab protest in Iran

Iran: Turkish singer Melek Mosso has shown her support for the anti-hijab protest in Iran by chopping her hair. The anti-hijab revolution started over the death of Mahsa Amini. Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old, woman was arrested on September 13 while leaving from Tehran metro station with her brother and other relatives. The reason behind her arrest was breaching Iran’s strict rule for women on wearing hijab headscarves and modest clothing.

Mahsa was in a coma for three days, then died “of natural causes” as said by authorities, but according to activists, the cause of her death was a fatal blow to the head.

After this incident, Iran exploded into protests. Turkish singer Melek recently caught everyone’s attention when she cut her hair on stage in solidarity with the protesters in Iran. Melek’s several videos and pictures went viral in which she is standing on the stage holding a pair of scissors and a mic in each of her hands. She chops her hair in front of the audience.
