Vijayadashami worship method

Worshiping Dussehra in Vijay Muhurta or the afternoon is considered best. On this day, after bathing in the morning, wear new or clean clothes and worship Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and Hanuman Ji.

Sprinkle Gangajal where you want to worship and apply sandalwood paste to make Ashtadal Chakra. The worship of the Aparajita and Shami tree has special significance on this day.

Write Aparajitaya Namah in the middle of the Ashtadal Chakra. Now place Maa Jaya on the right side and Maa Vijaya on the left. Invoke the Goddess by reciting the mantras Om Kriyashaktyai Namah (ॐ क्रियाशक्त्यै नमः) and Umayai Namah (उमायै नमः).

Make 10 balls from cow dung and apply barley seeds on top of it. Worship Lord Shri Ram by lighting incense and lamps and burning these balls.

It is believed that these 10 balls are a symbol of arrogance, greedy, angry like Ravana. These evils are put to an end by burning them.

After worship chant Om Dasharathay Vidmahe Sitavallabhai Dheemah Tanno Ramah Prachodayat (ओम दशरथाय विद्महे सीतावल्लभाय धीमहि तन्नो राम: प्रचोदयात) Mantra. It is said that all works are proved by this.

Arms worship is of great importance on the day of Dussehra. On Vijayadashami, Kshatriyas, warriors, and soldiers worship their weapons everywhere with the wish of victory.

Worship Shami tree in Pradosh period before burning of Ravana. This gives blessings of victory over the enemy.

In Shravan Nakshatra, Shri Ram and his monkey army attacked Lanka and waved the flag of victory, so there is a tradition of burning the effigy of Ravana on this day during Pradosh Kaal.
